It’s finally here the last few days before my 1000 tractor tyre flip challenge. On Saturday in the motive8 north personal training car park I will be flipping the 75kg tractor tyre 1000 times to raise money for TOM FOUNDATION (Take One Moment)

You only have to read through the comments from my Just Giving Page and you can see what people’s responses are to me completing this challenge

As I mentioned in my previous blogs about how I am training for the tyre flip I have been focusing on training for high reps to help my body be as prepared as possible to flip the 75kg tractor tyre 1000 times. These next few days are all about ensuring that I’m ready to kick some tyre butt!!

On Monday I completed 300 flips and that will be the last time I flip the tyre before Saturday as I want my back and legs to feel as fresh as possible a couple of days after flipping a high volume I have the inevitable sore legs and tight back but flipping 300 on Monday really put my mind at ease as it felt much more comfortable than previous times however don’t worry I’m not in denial I’m aware I have an addition 700 to do.

One thing I’m trying to keep on top of is ensuring I drink plenty of water this week to ensure I am not dehydrated on Saturday. I normally sweat when training but boy does flipping tyres make me drip! Sorry and apologies to anyone who has to see me, I’m going to look beautiful covered in sweat and tyre muck for the photographer from the newspaper! I’m pretty good at ensuring I drink enough water but I’m being extra cautious to keep drinking throughout the day.

Another factor I need to take into consideration is what I’m going to eat during the flip. I don’t want to be eating to much as I know eating and exercise has never mixed well for me in the last but with the vast amount of calories I will be burning I need to keep up that energy so will be refuelling with energy gels, complex carbs and ensuring I take in sufficient protein to help me recover

The Day Before…..

On Friday I am going to have a rest day off training to help me ensure that I’m feeling fresh for Saturday. I have a sports massage booked in on Friday evening to massage out any niggles and to strap my back with kinesio tape to give me a little extra support. I will of course me ensuring my at T shirt is ready and I’m looking fabulous for all the spectators and photographers.

I’m ready for this and I’m ready to push my self hard for all the donation money I have raised. I want to thank everyone who has donated so far it means the world to me and everyone who supports TOM Foundation.

If you would like to sponsor me then I have a collection box in the gym to you can donate on my Just Giving Page.

Thanks again for all your kind words and support!
