Here is a perfect example of who can benefit for a nutritional consultation.

It is certainly true that no one has the perfect diet – the combination of working life, social life and lifestyle habits often means we are a little step away from perfect. But whether a full overhaul or just a little adjustment is needed to get you closer to your goals a nutritional consultation may help.

Here is an example of one of our clients who has really benefited from the guidance of the nutritional consultation.

Georgina is 27 and has always been fit and healthy attending classes at her local health centre and biking to work but since an injury 6 months ago that has prevented her from exercising she has put on 2.5 stone. She was concerned about her health and wanted to live a healthy lifestyle without exercising, so she booked a nutritional consultation.

She voiced her concerns over the phone in her 15 minute free consultation that she was embarrassed about what she ate and I explained to her that even having the conversation meant she was one step closer to achieving her goals.

After analysing her 5 day food diary it was clear that she was eating a high levels of processed carbohydrates and saturated fats. When we chatted in her consultation she was shocked to realise that even brown bread and pasta are not good for you and we discussed healthier alternatives.
“I was unaware that the carbohydrates I was eating and the quantity of them was having such a bad effect on my health goals, As soon as I replaced these carbs with healthier alternatives I felt so much better and lost weight quicker.

For Georgina it was about educating her about what types of food were best for her as low fat labels can be incredibly deceiving and can contain a lot of sugars or salts. We set guidelines and set realistic goals as hanging everything at once would not have been realistic

“One of my goals for the first week was to cut down the amount of bread I was having. I would eat up to 6 slices a day as I thought it was good for me and fill me up, but in fact after 1 week of not eating bread and focusing on filling up on protein and veg I felt fuller for longer and lost 4lbs”

The nutritional consultation allows you to decide how much support you receive. We have options for follow up sessions and food plans. After I set Georgina her initial targets she decided tobook a block of follow up sessions.

“I knew that what I had learnt in the consultation was going to really help me on my journey to lose weight however I knew I would benefit from more support so I booked monthly follow up sessions with Lucy. It’s been fantastic, I am achieving new goals and making big steps towards my overall fitness goal. Once I have had a few more months of making my diet cleaner and I am feeling more confident I want to follow a personalised nutrition plan to really step up my progress”
