Gym Myths, Magazine Trash and Your ‘Mr Know It All’ Friend!
Unfortunately there are a lot of bogus articles released regarding fitness and losing weight, and these tend to be specifically aimed at women. The majority of these are solely to make money! Now, you don’t have to agree with what I’m saying and by all means question what I’m saying to prove what I am saying is correct. After all, that’s how we all improve and how we educate ourselves.
So here are my top 10 absolute, utter, supreme, and utmost reasons why individuals don’t achieve their goals …….despite what the magazines say!
1. They do the SPECIAL K diet!- Go eat a cardboard box covered in various chemicals, it will be of higher nutritional quality. Did you know that Special K contains the same amount of sugar as a bowl of Chocolate Fudge Cake Ice-cream (and no you can’t eat this instead!!)
2. They consume caffeine after a session- you want high cortisol during a session not after, consume before it you have to have caffeine.
3. They follow a low fat diet– avoiding nutrient dense foods like avocados, nuts and fish oils. Believe it or not the majority of individuals haven’t got fat from fat it’s actually from the bad carbs they eat!
4. They only do spinning classes- Yes you get a good sweat from it and get a cardio workout but its as effective as roller disco if your goal is to get a lean physique.
5. They have bagels every day because they are low in fat- guess what paper is low in fat, do you eat that? Remember folks, everything in moderation!
6. I just want to tone so I won’t lift anything heavier than the dust on my finger nail- if you can manage the weight in your rep range comfortably you’re wasting your time! Honestly, some women’s handbags are heavier than the dumbbells they use!
7. They don’t prepare their meals for the week- its like not having any driving lessons before a driving test, pretty stupid idea! Failing to prepare is preparing to fail, period! Be a good boy scout and the results will speak for themselves.
8. They are too busy! As a PT this is the most annoying reason – yet people find time to watch their favourite program, meet their friends for coffee and relax after a hard days work, THEIR PRIORITIES ARE WRONG!
9. They consume lots of soy products. For men this lowers testosterone! Good idea if your trying to become a woman, bad if your trying to become lean! Women – its full of toxic manganese (by the way manganese shrinks your brain and they use it in unleaded petrol)
10. Negative people who tell you it cant be done– these people are weak minded, have no sticking power, unmotivated, lazy, degenerative and generally a failure. Trust yourself and stop surrounding yourself by these people! They are not your friends if they don’t want you to succeed.
SUCCESS IS SIMPLE – EAT CLEAN, TRAIN HARD AND SLEEP WELL.
