I got the inspiration for this 12 Days of Christmas Workout from my husband’s Advent Calendar. I got him a “Protein Chocolate” calendar from one of the health food shops in town…that way he can have a high protein treat without breaking any diet rules! What I hadn’t realised was that the calendar actually has a Christmas Countdown Workout in it – double joy – chocolate AND a means to help work it off! (I’m not sure he was excited as me about this). So with just 12 days left to Christmas day – try this Christmas workout on for size!
It is your choice whether you do this workout as a body weight workout or if you use weights. I’ve designed the workout so it’s suitable with any kit you choose – or no kit at all – that way there are no excuses!
The idea is to do this now for each day leading to Christmas. If you start at 12 today, then tomorrow you’d start with 11, Friday you’d start with 10 and so on.
- 12 Press Ups
- 11 Toe Touches
- 10 Burpees
- 9 Lunges (each leg – you don’t get off that easy!)
- 8 Tricep Dips
- 7 Plank to Press Up position back to plank
- 6 Explosive Star Jumps (feet off the floor!)
- 5 Single Leg Glute Bridges (each leg)
- 4 Pike Press Ups
- 3 Double Crunches
- 2 Ninjas (jump forward and run back)
- 1 Plank Walkout
If that was easy, now do it again but this time it’s 12 plank walkouts, 11 ninjas, 10 double crunches etc etc.
It doesn’t matter if there are less than 12 days to go until Christmas, this is a fun but effective workout to do any time!
Compared to our monthly workout in the Marshall Court studio this is easy! Why not give it a try!
