Yes. It’s Members, plural, this month. Simply because we couldn’t pick one and not the other. You’ll find this dynamic duo training together at lunch times; taking over the end room and giggling like – well, girls! But don’t misunderstand their girly giggles; as these ladies take their lifting seriously. Gym members Mel and Elyse were nominated by Kate as her “bikini girls”, because of their dedication to their training regimes. Let’s find out a little bit more about the Motive8’s September members of the month.

How Long Have You Trained At Motive8 For?

M – On and off about 4 years

E – 5 Months

What Were Your Goals When You Joined? Have They Changed?

M – My goals have changed as I decided I wanted to compete in a fitness competition.

E – My goal was to drop body fat without losing much muscle mass. This hasn’t changed as I’m still trying to achieve this!

As Well As Being A Gym Member, Do You Use Any Of The Other Services Offered By Motive8?

M – I have a monthly plan created by the lovely Kate, I also have the odd Personal Training session with her. That woman just wants to break me!

E – I have a monthly plan created by the lovely Kate; because I was getting bored of the current plan I had made myself and didn’t have the time to invest researching to create another.

K – I’m not sure we’re they’re both getting the “lovely” from!

Why Do You Enjoy Working Out At Motive8?

M – I like that it’s small and friendly and that it’s close to my work.

E – It’s small and family like. It has a very friendly atmosphere and is easy to get to know the regulars.

What Is Your Favourite Exercise? Anything You Don’t Like Doing?

M – I love anything shoulder related. I hate doing BB Squats and Jumping Lunges

E – I too love anything for the shoulders, probably Military Press or DB Shoulder Press. I hate doing BB Squats or any Cardio!

K – guess what will be on your next plans then!

What Keeps You Motivated?

M – I have always loved working out – it keeps me sane! Recently training with my partner in crime Elyse, keeps me in check.

E – Looking back at how far I’ve come already. Also every time I am finally able to do a new exercise properly or be able to increase the weight lifted – it gives me more motivation to do better.

And What About The Days You Can’t Be Bothered Going To The Gym?

M – Everybody takes the p*ss out of me as I am always in the gym; but saying that, it is my place of zen. It keeps me sane and the only bit of “me” time I get. Plus, it’s great to see the gains!

E – It’s rare that I can’t be bothered to go to the gym as it’s time that I can spend just for me and is so ingrained in my lifestyle that I don’t find it hard work.

Keep SMASHING IT ladies!
