Have you ever had one of those days where you just fancy an AMRAP? No? Just me then! An AMRAP is “As Many Rounds As Possible”, and is usually performed for time. It’s a chance to really push yourself, and the best thing is that it’s repeatable – so you can do it again another day and see if you’ve improved! Try this 5 minute AMRAP for size:

The Rules

You need to perform your reps with good for – no half measures here. Just because you’re up against the clock does not mean your technique should get sloppy. Don’t just pile into this either, make sure you’ve warmed up. Personally, I’d do this at the start of your workout as you have some energy then – rather than waiting until the end when you’re knackered and want to go home!

The Weights

Choose weights that will push you, but you know you can do. You’re cheating yourself if you go too light, but then robbing your reps and sets if it’s too heavy! To help you, I’ve made it like a barbell complex to save time, but this will mean picking a weight that you can do everything with.

The Workout

I picked all my favourites for this 5 minute AMRAP of course!

  • 5 x BB Clean & Presses
  • 5 x BB Squats
  • 5 x BB Reverse Lunges (each leg)
  • 5 x Box Jumps

That’s it! Just 4 simple exercises. Over and over and over and over….. Let me know how many rounds you complete!
