If there is a type of exercise that I dislike the most – it’s cardio! I love cycling and rowing, but actually getting round to doing cardio exercises (you know, star jumps and burpees), I avoid them. New year, new you right? So here’s a quick new year cardio blast that even I can stand doing!

The Rules

Nice and straight forward. There are 2 circuits which you will repeat twice. Six exercises, 45 seconds per each exercise with 15 seconds rest between the exercises. The only equipment you need is a box or a step – so you can easily do this at home too.

Round 1

  • Step Ups
  • 10 High Knees, 10 Low Knees
  • Shuffle Runs
  • Box Jumps
  • Squat Jumps
  • “Ninjas” i.e. jump forward and run back

Round 2

  • Star Jumps
  • Burpees
  • Mountain Climbers
  • Skater Jumps
  • Single Leg Box Jumps
  • Side to side Jumps

I’ve used this before in a class, but I just stood there and shouted instructions! It’s a bit harder when you actually do it yourself. Who knew!?
